What did you end up making and how did it go?

I made the KIngs Landing white beans with bacon, honeyed lamb chops and roasted neeps (turnips). It was amazing.

There was a ton of food. We had steak and bacon pie, roast boar, honey roasted lamb, a roast chicken, several salads, roasted Brussels sprouts, mustard-stout deviled duck’s eggs, shrimp and persimmon soup, several hearty breads, cheese, fresh fruit, and potatoes.

For dessert, there were lemon cakes, strawberry pies with thyme crusts, blackberry cobbler, and a spice cake made with Bailey’s and Jameson.

For drinks, we were lucky enough to have a friend attending the premier who got an excellent deal on some homemade mead. It tasted like honeysuckle and butterfly kisses, but had a deceptively high alcohol content. There was also an assortment of other wines, stouts, and ales.

Currently, I’m enjoying some leftover shrimp and persimmon soup for lunch. That recipe is really, really good and is going into the house cookbook.
