Cookbook Giveaway!

GUYS!

These magical boxes appeared on our porch today:

They were full of cookbooks!

And because we wouldn’t be here without all of you, we want to share.

We are giving away Four SIGNED copies of the cookbook before the release date!

Enter by posting a comment below. Everyone is only allowed one entry, but you are allowed to comment more than once. The more banter, the better, as far as we’re concerned!

The entry deadline is Noon on Wednesday, May 16th, at which point two winners will be selected randomly.

UPDATE!

We have selected two winners for the blog drawing! However, you can still enter the giveaway for another two books on Goodreads. No harm in hedging your bets. ;) Open to all fans, everywhere.

Good Luck!

Some of the recipes I’ve read in the book sound fantastic, and some downright horrible. I’m certainly more than a little curious to see what you’ve made of GRRM’s ideas in the book especially the nice ones.

      Good luck.

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until dinner is complete. I shall feed my wife, garden my lands, distract the cats from jumping on the counter. I shall wear no aprons and win no cooking contests. I shall prep and serve at my post. I am the knife in the darkness. I am the blender on the counter. I am the fire that lightly renders the fat, the broiler that chars the trout, the dinner bell that wakes the hungry, the sauté pan that satisfies the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night’s Kitchen, for this night and all the nights to come.

Hey! I love your website. My boyfriend and I make food from it every Sunday to eat while we watch “Game of Thrones”. (Every week except last week when we found alligator and frog at the farmers market and decided to make our own “The Reeds” ideal meal, even though it appears they are not in the show; they still need culinary love).

I would be super excited to win a copy of the book. If I don’t win, I will definitely still buy it though. I am SOOO excited to see the wild boar recipe and many others.

In our recent reads of the GRRM Game of Thrones series my wife and I have commented to one another along the way of how we get cravings reading about all the various foods described along the way. We were at Forbidden Planet in NYC the other day and saw a cook book that were recipes inspired by Game of Thrones, however we didnt buy it figuring we would get it on Amazon or another book website.
When we checked Amazon for it, your book popped up & from the description & intro by GRRM it convinced us yours was the one to obtain, so we pre-ordered it ;-)
This led us to your absolutely wonderful blog & now we can make these dishes with your help!! Thank you!!
Nonetheless here we are attempting to win a copy ;-)

I would LOVE to have a copy! I’m following this site since almost the very beginning and I cooked a lot of your recipes, I love them! One of my favorite recipes ever is the Honeyed Chicken. I cooked it so many times, delicious! I even showed you a pic on twitter which you reblogged :D I love that even people in Europe (like me) have a chance to get a copy. That’s very fair of you. Most times giveaways are only available for the US which sucks. I’m glad that everyone here has a chance to win :)

Thank you for investing so much time and effort in creating these recipes for us :)

Our premiere party spread was SO GOOD. Chicken from the wall, Dornish beef skewers, northern beans, acorn squash (from highgarden I think?), and some nice fruit tarts from King’s Landing.

But, there were many other recipes that we would have liked to make but were exclusive to the cookbook. Looking forward to it coming out!

I am an avid cook and in honor of Game of Thrones, last Sunday I prepared Rabbit with a Wild Mushroom Gumbo over wild grains and brown rice. I would love to win a cookbook and continue what is becoming a family tradition of sharing dinner and Game of Thrones every Sunday night with my son and his wife by preparing authentic recipes from the show and quality family bonding time. Would so love to win a copy.

I was reading this blog before I read the books or saw the (perfectly glorious) HBO series. Now that I find myself deep in the books, I see the photos of your culinary experiments when I read about a meal! I can almost taste (or retch over) some of it! I need to start cooking this stuff! (I would suggest a sub-set of recipes titled “Comfort Food For Sansa”. GRRM, what did that poor girl do to you? She needs a good stiff drink. I said “drink”, Tyrion!)

but in all seriousness, winning this would be awesome. My parents have had it tough since I’ve moved out for college, but having come back and starting to cook good dinners for them they’ve really appreciated having one less thing to come home and worry about. This would be excellent for expanding my culinary skills!

I love your website and I’m so excited for the cook book I could scream! I’ve made several of your recipes,( my favorite so far being the oxtail soup ) and as a fellow Bostonian I really appreciate the “shout outs” to local markets that may have otherwise gone unnoticed! By the way do you have a favorite local butcher? Mine would have to be DiPaolo & Rossi in the north end.

I truly wish you the best of luck in what you’re doing with the site.G.R.R.M. is so descriptive with the food and a lot of your recipes are extraordinarily well put together. Much better than some sites that just change the name of the dish to something that makes no sense, Gregor Clagane’s Apple Pie or some such nonsense.

    We do not sow
    Hear me boar,
    The seed is wrong
    Only feast for a crow.

    Chop the boar
    Slaugther the fowl,
    The chicken wings are rising
Brace your selves, dinner is coming.

The kitchen is dark and full of meat
But a Lannister always pays his meal!

I’m continually amazed at the lengths the two of you go to come up with recipes and procure some of the less common ingredients to replicate the dishes mentioned in the books; and the attention to detailing you do to stage the photos for the website. Good luck with the book. It’s really nice to see hard work and passion rewarded.

Argh! Completely forgot about this as I was at a SciCom conference in London the past two days! With only two hours left to go, I want to remind you of all of the publicity I’ve given the book with my group of friends (and on Twitter!).

Honestly, I cannot wait for this book – I am sure it is going to be as fantastic as all of the recipes on your website! I am a huge advocate of both medieval cuisine and Game of Thrones.

Even if I don’t win the book I’m enjoying a slap-up three course medieval meal at Blackfriars restaurant in Newcastle (UK) this evening courtesy of my partner of seven years for our anniversary.

Whoever wins the book will love it I am sure and I really hope they love all of the delicious recipes at their next Throne-party! Now I just need a GoT costumes book to make the night complete…

I would love to get your cookbook. I am very excited for this whole project. The website and concept are great! Sansa’s love of lemon cakes had me thinking about Ice and Fire food from the start of the series. You folks have taken it so far beyond that.

It’s my turn to host Thankgiving and my brother is a chef. This book may be my only hope.
I’m buying it regardless. If I win one, then I’d still buy one to keep with my GoT books.
That way I’ll have a copy without gravy stains. :)

Me and my best friend are huge fans of the books but she has a gifts that, unfortunately, I do not possess: she cooks devilishly well. I’m trying to convince her to make up a couple of recipes and I really think this book would be a fantastic surprise, from this site to her. So… can she have a copy, please? With a fat cherry on top?

I would love one of these, or probably 4 of these, and will buy them anyway. But since today is my birthday, and my daughter’s is in 12 days, maybe I should enter for a freebie.
Also Chelsea, I’ve been thinking you’ve come a long way since Redwall feasts, but I’d like to (not-so-humbly) take a little credit for your culinary success!!
