  1. What about Tyrion’s simple breakfast of fish, bread and bacon burnt black! Always sounds like that had some potential! :)

    • We definitely want to do that meal, especially since HBO put it word-for-word into the show! I’ve gotten it into my head that the little fish mentioned are sardines–I lived on the Black Sea for a year, and their little fried fish are exactly what I imagine for this scene. So, as soon as I find some, we’ll post it!

  2. Thick cream of wheat with honey and butter (III: 372)

This sounds like the wheat porridge I had when I was younger using burghul (cracked wheat) rather than oats.

  3. (Modern) Apple cakes, from the cookbook, are the best *__* I just made some for diner (as a dessert) and it was incredible *__* I was really scared that would be too sweet, but even if I put a bit less sugar, it wasn’t too sweet at all. Really really nice <3 I don't think I will find any disappointing recipe in this book haha !

  4. Rice Porridge with Cinnamon-Sugar and Butter

    1 1/2 cups water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup Jasmine Rice
    4 1/2 cups milk
    cinnamon-sugar and butter to taste

Rinse rice well and drain. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups water, butter, and salt to a rapid boil over high heat. Pour in rice, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Reduce heat to low, stirring rice until boiling is reduced to a simmer. Cover pot and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until rice has absorbed most of the water.

Add milk to rice, stirring to incorporate. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, then immediately reduce heat to low. Once boiling has reduced to a simmer, cover pot and allow to cook, without stirring, for 45 minutes.
